Once Upon a Horse, nestled in the foothills of Eagle Idaho, has been the premier dressage training and boarding facility in the Treasure Valley for over 30 years. Ernie and Janet Herrmann, partnered with Jim and Barbara Cimino and built Once Upon a Horse in 1984. The goal was to develop a facility that would serve the budding equestrian community. Ernst Herrmann had the background in Dressage and Eventing. The valley had a need for a place where english riding enthusiasts could come together and learn. Once Upon A Horse quickly became a meeting place for The Boise Pony Club, local Dressage Shows, local Three Day Events, and clinics hosting well know instructors in dressage and eventing. Since 1984, the facility has continued to evolve. New barns were built and arenas added to meet the needs of the clients. Over the years the students have known success regionally, nationally and internationally.

With a focus on dressage, we are here to help you improve your rding skills and your communication with your equine partner. We work with each student/horse combination to give them the tools they need to make their goals a reality. Students range from the first time rider on the school horse, to FEI competitors. All are welcome and given individual help with their riding and with their horse.

Ideally located just a quick 25 minutes from the airport, and only 15 minutes from Idaho's capital city of Boise, the farm is convenient while maintaining the leisurely country feel that is ideal for a horse boarding and training facility.

Owners Ernst and Janet Herrmann live on site and provide 24 hour on site care and supervision for all of the horses. The facility has 42 stalls, a 20mx60m indoor rding arena, 2 20mx60m outdoor dressage arenas, outdoor jumping ring, round pen and much more!
